Verse: “Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.”
Insight: Imagine that you are the featured artist at an art exhibition, you’re standing amongst the patrons, and you begin to hear the spread of an awful rumor - “He didn’t create any of these pieces”! How would that make you feel? And yet, every day, in this beautiful creation of ours, rumor has it that God didn’t make it! But the Scripture says differently: “... (God’s) invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.” If there is a builder for a building, and an artist for a painting, and a sculptor for a sculpture, how is it that there is no Creator for creation? But our verse for today captures the heartfelt response of those who are no longer blinded by the god of this world. Let’s pause for a moment, so that our hearts can begin to see and appreciate all that God has willed into creation ...
Prayer: Lord Jesus, the Bible tells me that You are the Creator of everything! (John 1:3; Col 1:16) I want to pause, and reflect on the wonder of your handiwork, and then I want to join my voice with the twenty four elders, to let You know that you are worthy to receive all the glory, honor and power for everything that you have made! Bless you, Lord. I love you!
